I QUIT my job for passion…

sky is the limit and hard work awaits

So, after 16 years, I have finally quit my job. The decision came after much deliberation and consultation with my wife and children, and I have their support. Friends and family have also given encouragement and shown support. I am fortunate and blessed to be in a position now where I can quit my job and follow my dream of making films, taking photos, and travelling.

I have gone through a rollercoaster of emotions in the last two months. Making such a decision isn’t easy for those who have worked in a nine-to-five job forever, and I am no exception. I have relied on a monthly salary and gone on holidays knowing that I have job security. However, my passion hasn’t been in the job for a long time. My heart is in storytelling through my writing, videos and films. I have come a long way in learning this craft and have a long way to go. However, I am ready to take a leap of faith based on where I stand financially.

It sounds strange to say, “I am a filmmaker and a photographer” instead of “I am a Software Architect.” Well, I am currently going through my resignation period, but I am getting excited as July 9th, 2024, approaches.

I have plans, and I have been talking to many industry professionals so that on the 10th of July, I can hit the road running.

I guess the sky is the limit, and another era of hard work is about to begin. If you are reading a blog of mine for the first time, subscribe to my newsletter and be the first one to know the latest and keep our conversations going. I share weekly updates on what I am up to. It also gives me a chance to interact with you and answer emails. I would love to hear what you have to say and share.

Kind regards

Muji
