Walking On The Clouds. The Moon and Stars

This week has started a new phase in my life as a creator, and the newsletter intends to share what a person working for himself goes through. Maybe it will give you some food for thought, and I would appreciate your feedback, too. Let’s talk!

That’s me in the image. It's been eight months since my resignation, and I'm content with my decision. Walking on vibrant clouds with stars and the moon ever in motion is a bit intimidating, yet also a wonderful experience.

A dialogue between the stars and the moon

The stars and the moon are constantly in motion. To me, this represents hope but also effort. Constant motion requires strength, determination, and a positive mindset. Here’s a short version of one of my favourite poems.

The stars once asked the moon, saying, “Above us lies the eternal beauty of heaven, where we must tirelessly shine, continuing our journey day after day. We are bound to move endlessly! No living being knows true rest. Everything is subjected to laws that force all things—stars, people, rocks, and trees—to wander. But will this endless journey ever reach an end or find a destination?”

The moon replied, “Oh, my friends, the entire life of this world depends on motion. This is the ancient fate of existence. Those who keep moving succeed, while those who lag are left behind. But what is the purpose of all this hurry? It is love at its origin, and beauty is the ultimate aim.”

I am doing what the moon said!

  • I am still trying to figure out who Muji is and what his voice as a creator is.

  • I've begun emailing potential clients in the Cape Town market, targeting individuals who may benefit from my services. So far, two out of ten have responded—one inquiring about rates and another indicating possible future work. I wasn’t expecting any replies, so I'm pleased with this initial response and plan to continue while adding small businesses to my outreach list.

  • With the help of professionals, I am working daily to improve my website and ensure that my beginner photography course and online photography coaching start selling. I will share the results with you in two months! I write a photography and travel blog on my website almost every day to enrich it with useful information.

  • I am posting regularly on socials.

  • I might not be regular on YouTube, but I have quite a lot in the pipeline.

Advice/tip for you: Don’t be intimidated by what others in your circle are doing and you are not. I see my fellow creators doing paid client projects. As much as I am trying to get one for myself to keep the ball rolling, this is not the ultimate goal. If I wanted to be working for clients all the time, I would not have left my job. I want to work for myself, for example, I have enjoyed earning through creative writing for the past eight months, I have loved writing for a long time, and now it’s a source of income. I also aim to teach and create movies about life, photography, and travel, and I want to be paid through that. While I’ll take on paid client projects to keep things moving and gain industry experience, I won’t lose sight of my ultimate goals. Eight months in a more considerable scope of things is a short period. So, I am in motion and hear the moon’s advice loud and clear!

Quote of the Day:

They that press on win clear—the late,
The laggard, trampled underfoot.

And what is the goal of all this haste?—
At the journey's close, beauty we find, But love's gentle spark ignites the mind.

Looking from the outside, do you have any feedback for me?

Kind regards
