Struggles of a Beginner Photographer - An Online Photography Course to Rescue

The Journey Starts Here

Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” Mahatma Gandhi

My journey as a beginner photographer started on shaky ground, filled with confusion and frustration before I reached a stage of confidence and belief in my abilities. If you're new to photography, your camera's weight and aspirations can feel overwhelming. Today, I want to give you a glimpse of my journey as a beginner photographer and share how I would learn photography if I were a beginner.

The Overwhelming Amount of Information for a Beginner

As a beginner photographer, I face a vast ocean of knowledge. I wanted to learn photography but I wasn’t aware of any of the terms used in photography. With countless tutorials and videos available, where do you start? I felt confused by terms like ISO, aperture, and shutter speed.

Lack of Guidance

One significant hurdle for me to learn photography as a newbie was the feeling of being directionless. Without a mentor or clear path, I felt lost. I explored parks and streets, capturing images, yet I felt uncertain when they didn't match my vision. This can be disheartening as passion dims under confusion and self-doubt. Have you longed for a guide to help you see the world through photography? You're not alone in that wish.

The Paralyzing Fear of Failure

I was overwhelmed by the fear of failure. I invested so much into capturing the perfect shot, only to feel disheartened when the images didn't reflect my emotions. This is a common struggle for many creative individuals, and it's completely understandable.

Finding Your Unique Voice

Developing your artistic style while navigating technical aspects can be a challenge. As a beginner, I got stuck in imitation, believing that copying techniques were the only growth path. Have you ever felt disconnected between the images you capture and the stories you want to share?

The Importance of Community and Feedback

The message to my younger self or the beginner me at this stage of my photography career would be not to navigate this journey alone. I would join a community of fellow beginners under mentorship. In this nurturing environment, I would ask questions, share my work, and receive encouragement and constructive feedback.

This is not only my thought but also feedback I have received from many photographers with whom I have recently spoken about advising beginner photographers. I asked these questions in an online photography course that I designed.  Realizing that others understand your journey and are eager to help you is reassuring! I want to inspire you to choose a different path. That’s why I’ve crafted an empowering online beginner photography course with over 70 insightful lectures and more than 10 hours of lessons, practicals, assignments, and invaluable tips from professional photographers. Enrol in my online beginner photography course today, and together, we will overcome obstacles, boost your confidence, and unveil the photographer within you.

You don’t have to walk this journey alone; your aspirations can become reality. Let’s transform your passion into breathtaking art and capture moments that resonate with your heart and soul!

Kind regards

Muji
