What’s Your Purpose In Life?

What is your purpose?

Ego and pride do not take anyone far. Even if you are victorious, the glory does not last long. We have seen men and women, as well as empires, fall and fail. Those nations and individuals who cling to their past glory, refusing to accept their reality and adapt, become a burden to themselves and others. My recent interactions with a few individuals made me reflect on this. I was asked for advice, but pride and ego obstructed their vision when it was offered. It hurts to see capable individuals behave in this manner. If one falls, to rise once more, one needs to place their hands on the dusty ground again, muster their strength, dust off their clothes, and walk a few steps or miles to climb back to where they were.

Lesson to self: Keep evaluating where you are in life, look at your goals, revise them, learn from your mistakes, adapt, and better yourself. As long as your body and mind are fine, don’t be shy of doing what your ego and mind might call “petty” or “below your level.” Don’t be a drag to yourself and the ones around you. People eventually get tired and move on! And guess who stays behind…

Do you have a purpose, goals and ambitions? When you wake up… what do you tell yourself? How do you master your day?

I leave you to answer these questions for yourselves while I try to find my own (and also get back to writing; it’s a busy month, Allhumdulilah).

Quote of the day: “He, who learns and makes no use of his learning, is a beast of burden, with a load of books.” ~ Saadi Shirazi (Persian poet)

Video of the week: I met an artisan in Venice who makes eyewear; enjoy: Portraits and photos of an artisan in Venice, Italy.
